Here are some random quick snaps from my last trip out to Seattle. Love this place.
I know I just put a picture of this place up from the last time I was there. But two weeks later, I saw it in a totally different light. And from a different angle. I totally forgot that the monorail runs right through the place. Gotta love Gehry. Madness.
Here’s a set of quick snaps from the last couple days. I ate soft serve in a Liquor Store parking lot. I got lost in the South End. And I was told by a coworker to step my Sam Adams game up. As if.
I took a few days off an journeyed south to Washington DC. Lots of good food, and lots of history.
Here are a few quick snaps from my last week about town. It covers all the bases. My favorite find was the choppers. They’re super sick for one, but they were parked in front of a tattoo parlor, which adds a whole ‘bother layer of cool.
I got real bored waiting for the bus. That’s a pile of snow in the parking lot. Weird right?
Here’s a bad photo of Harpoon’s framed victory. 100,000 Barrels. That’s a lot of beer. I got a sample of something coming down the line in a couple months. Can’t wait!
Here’s a bad photo of an art car found in Cambridge. It’s something. I haven’t seen one of these since I went to Berkeley this one time a few years ago. Meoww.
Here’s a bad photo of the Green Dragon hidden in a little alley off of Union St. It’s a tourist spot, so I had to see it. I asked if their Green Dragon Brew was worth trying, I was told to skip it and was given a delicious Wachusett IPA instead. If you like your IPA a little maltier, definitely give the Wachusett Green Monsta a try.
Here are some shots from the latest Harpoon 100 Barrel Launch, their 40th, for their Black IPA. The last shot is of the brewer himself. I exchanged some drunk shop talk with him at the event. I have to say, talking to the brewer is awesome! I got to learn a lot about the specific ingredients, and more importantly his personal thoughts on how his beer turned out. True story, the malt was chosen because he wanted his Black IPA to be really really black. So I may have asked him if he was going for “slightly darker black.” We were both too tipsy to fully internalize the reference.
Here’s a couple bad photos of the new tanks going up at Harpoon’s Boston brewery. You know what this means? MORE BEER!
Here’s a bad photo of Medieval Manor/Dig Boston HQ. I’ve ridden past this spot just about every day since July, and I hadn’t noticed the Dig sign. It’s cool to find out where things are made.
Not enough Harpoon in your life? I thought this opener was overkill, but it destroys bottle caps. Destroys. The Barley Wine is delicious BTW. Highly recommended if you like a strong barley beer. Lots of sweetness from the malt.
Here’s a bad photo of a Harpoon tasting. 4pm Friday, and free beer gives me a shaky camera hand.
Here’s a quick snap/bad photo of the haggis dinner at The Haven JP. It was really buttery and super delicious. I ate the whole thing. Mmmmmmm.
